About Tampax

Made by women, for women.

It was 1934 when Tampax company founder Gertrude Tenderich set out to revolutionize period protection for women everywhere. As a female entrepreneur, she was determined to give women a tampon that was effective, comfortable, and safe.

80 years later, our goal at Tampax remains unchanged. Tampax Cup continues this tradition of safe, effective products being made by people with periods for people with periods.

Our Research

Here at Tampax, we have 80 years of experience in internal feminine protection. But we also knew that a menstrual cup was a new area for us, so we got help from a female OB-GYN to help us design the cup.

Our female-led research team tested multiple cup designs for fit and comfort with real women, looked at how cups fit in the body in MRIs, we developed new test methods to test things like compression against the bladder, and we went above and beyond to ensure our product meets the strict safety expectations of the FDA.

Our Team

We have a small, passionate team of individuals with expertise in areas from safety, to product development, to design. We really enjoyed making the Tampax Cup, and we hope you will enjoy it too.
